Mother's Day - A Poem

A day set aside to honor my mother

A day to regard her above any other.

She sacrificed, loved, and protected me daily,

Her hours often spent in caregiving gaily.

Birthdays enjoyed and other big times,

Securely beside that great mother of mine.

Whenever a crisis would rear its head,

My mother would be there to take it instead.

No one else is like my mother.

She is gracious, charming and I look no further.

When all said, I fell short, and gave no good report,

Her faith in me swelled and she caused me to sail

Right on to the next worthy port.

If I had to choose one to take her place,

I’d look for a lifetime, but ne’er find a face

As beautiful and lovely as my own great mom.

God bless her and keep her in His strong palm.
